I'm a PMP, and I’m on a mission: to help IT managers, CIOs, and PMs improve the technology workplace. Although "doing the right thing" has been statistically proven to better the bottom line, fuel innovation, and generally improve humankind, most managers simply haven’t gotten the memo. Too many project managers, program managers, product managers so worried about performance-to-plan, they lose focus on value delivery. I believe that Agile/Lean philosphies are the answer. If you are ruthlessly committed to deliver eary and deliver often, if you treat people with respect, you get better results.

This is why I've rallied a group of Agile leaders to form the PMI Agile Community of Practice. We are passionate about teaching rank-and-file managers a better way of doing business. What if formally trained and educated managers valued individuals over process? What if managers actually trusted their teams? What if we cross-trained our workers, and aligned our teams around the business? Then, we could personally participate in successful projects and businesses. Acheiving results would be rewarding for a change, and we would see real improvement in the "daily grind".

But the #1 obstacle to all this is business-as-usual. So, join me on my quest to spread the gospel of Agile/Lean, and in so doing save the world from bad managers, one job at a time.
